What the song is about

“Musica leggerissima” (very light music) is a 2021 song by Colapesce and Dimartino, two Sicilian singer-songwriters. When dark thoughts creep in, they put on some very light music — a catchy tune, nothing too deep — to fill the silence and keep the bad feelings at bay. The irony is that the song itself is exactly that: a bright, catchy tune about a heavy heart.

It came fourth at the 2021 Sanremo Festival but became one of the most-played Italian songs of the year, a sign it struck a chord after the pandemic.

The two voices are soft and the Italian clear. A good B1 song for the superlative “-issima” (leggera → leggerissima), one of Italian's most useful endings.
