“Più bella cosa” (the most beautiful thing) is Eros Ramazzotti's 1996 song of gratitude. He sings to the woman he loves: there's nothing more beautiful than her, and he thanks her simply for existing. It's warm, bright and unashamedly romantic.
Eros, from Rome, is one of Italy's best-selling singers, famous across Europe and Latin America (he records in Spanish too). This is one of his signature songs, from the album Dove c'è musica.
The Italian is clear, with the rolled “r” and open vowels that make the language so singable. The phrase “grazie di esistere” (thank you for existing) is pure Italian romance, and the vocabulary — the thing, beautiful, to sing, love — is everyday.
