What the song is about

“Brividi” (shivers) is a duet by Mahmood and the young singer Blanco about a love that's real but hard to handle. Each of them is afraid of getting it wrong, of not knowing how to love the other properly, of feeling exposed — and the feeling gives them shivers.

It won the Sanremo Festival in 2022 and represented Italy at that year's Eurovision, held in Turin. The two voices, one smooth and one raw, alternate and then come together.

It's slow and emotional, with clear diction, so it's a good B1 song. Listen for the verbs of feeling — amare, sbagliare (to get it wrong), piangere — and the image of being “nudo” (naked, exposed).
