What the song is about

“MAMIII” (2022) is a duet by Becky G, a Mexican-American singer from Los Angeles, and KAROL G about a cheating ex who comes crawling back. They've moved on, they're doing great without him, and they tell him so — without sugar-coating anything.

The beat is mid-tempo reggaeton and the title plays on “mami”, the word the ex uses to sweet-talk them, now thrown back at him. The two voices take turns, which helps you hear each line clearly.

This is the everyday vocabulary of a break-up: to cheat, to lie, to come back, too late, I'm fine. It's direct, conversational Spanish — the way people actually argue — with a couple of strong words along the way.
