What the song is about

“TQG” — te quedó grande, roughly “I was too big for you” — is KAROL G and Shakira's 2023 duet about running into an ex after you've moved on and being completely fine. One ex calls, the other sees the new partner, and both women make it clear the door is closed.

It came out on KAROL G's album Mañana Será Bonito, weeks after Shakira's Bizarrap session, and fans read it as a sequel. The beat is mid-tempo reggaeton and the lines are short, punchy put-downs, which keeps it easier to follow than Shakira's solo diss track.

“Quedar grande” is a lovely everyday idiom: clothes that are too big for you “quedan grandes”, and so does a person you didn't deserve. Listen also for the Colombian “parce” and the confident, conversational tone.
