What the song is about

“Danza Kuduro” (2010) is a party instruction manual. Don Omar calls out the moves — hand up, move the waist, half turn — and Lucenzo answers in Portuguese with a chorus everyone can sing. Kuduro itself is a fast, energetic dance music from Angola, which Lucenzo, a Frenchman of Portuguese family, brought into this Latin hit.

The song closed the film Fast Five and became one of the most-watched Latin videos of its decade. It's still played at every wedding and party from Madrid to Miami.

For learners it's a gift: the Spanish lines are short commands (the imperative), repeated over and over, so you learn how Spanish tells someone what to do. And you get a little Portuguese for free.
