What the song is about

“Taki Taki” brought together the French producer DJ Snake, the Puerto Rican singer Ozuna, the Mexican-American star Selena Gomez and the rapper Cardi B. It's pure club music: an invitation to the dance floor, flirting, and a hook — “taki taki”, a playful chant with no dictionary meaning — that crowds shout back.

Released in 2018, it went to the top of charts around the world, and its video passed two billion views. Because Cardi B's verse is in English and the Spanish parts are short and repeated, it's a soft entry into reggaeton.

Listen for Ozuna's smooth Puerto Rican Spanish and Selena's clear, careful verse — two very different accents. The vocabulary is the night out: the club, dancing, the body, the rhythm.
