What the song is about

“Calma” (calm) is Pedro Capó's ode to slowing down. He and the woman he loves are at the beach in Puerto Rico; the sea, the sand, a drink, nothing to rush for. Calm, my love, he sings — nothing is chasing us. The 2018 remix with Farruko added a reggaeton verse and made it a global hit.

Its laid-back beat made it a summer staple across Latin America and Europe.

The Spanish is simple and clear — the sea, the sand, the sun, slowly — and the chorus is repeated. A great song for imperatives and for “nada” (nothing), plus a little Puerto Rican slang in Farruko's verse.
