What the song is about

“APT.” (2024) is built on a Korean drinking game called 아파트 (apateu, “apartment”). Players stack their hands one on top of the other while chanting, and whoever's hand lands on the called-out floor has to drink. ROSÉ, of BLACKPINK, taught the game to Bruno Mars, and the chant became the hook of a punk-pop song about flirting and meeting up.

It became one of the biggest songs in the world, topping the global charts of Spotify and Billboard, and introduced millions of people to a slice of Korean party culture.

The lyrics are mostly English, so it's an easy start. The Korean words below come from the world of the game: apartment, alcohol, cheers, bottoms up.
