What the song is about

“Spring Day” (봄날, bomnal) is a song about waiting through a long winter for someone you miss. The singers count the days, watch the snow fall, and wonder how many more nights until spring — until they can see that friend again. Many fans read it as a tribute to the young victims of the 2014 Sewol ferry disaster, though BTS have left it open.

Released in 2017, it stayed on Korea's main music chart for years — one of the longest runs ever — and it's often called the band's most beautiful song.

The Korean is slow and clearly sung, with basic, emotional words: to miss, winter, spring, friend, time. “보고 싶다” (bogo sipda, I miss you — literally “I want to see”) is a phrase every learner should know.
