“La Bebé” began as a song by Yng Lvcas, a young singer from Guadalajara, and exploded when Peso Pluma joined the remix in 2023. It's a night-out song: a woman everyone calls “la bebé” (babe) is out with her friends, and the singers are trying their luck.
It was one of the signs that Mexico had arrived in reggaeton, a genre long dominated by Puerto Rico and Colombia. The remix reached the top of charts in Mexico and across Latin America.
