What the song is about

“Le Festin” (the feast) is the song from Ratatouille, composed by Michael Giacchino and sung by the French singer Camille. It's Remy's song: a rat who dreams of becoming a great chef in Paris. He's tired of scavenging and hiding; he wants freedom, a full table, and to finally do what he loves — and he's sure his feast is coming.

Because the film is so loved, it's one of the most-searched French songs in the world — and one of the best ways to start.

Camille sings slowly and clearly, with a little jazz swing, and the vocabulary is simple: dreams, hunger, freedom, at last. The keyword is “enfin” (at last), which captures the whole film.
