What the song is about

“Andalouse” (Andalusian girl) is the song that followed Kendji Girac's win on The Voice France in 2014. He sings of a girl from Andalusia who has stolen his heart: her dancing, her eyes, the sun of the south — and he'll follow her wherever she goes.

Kendji comes from a family of Catalan-speaking gitanos (Roma) in the south-west of France, and his music is rumba gitana — fast Spanish guitar, hand claps, and a mix of French with a little Spanish.

The French is simple and clear, with lots of repetition, which makes it an easy A2 song. It's also a nice window onto the gitano culture shared by southern France and Spain.
