What the song is about

“Tú Me Dejaste De Querer” (you stopped loving me) is from C. Tangana's album El Madrileño (2021), which blended Spanish pop with flamenco, rumba and Latin American folk. Here a man realises his partner no longer loves him; he goes over what happened, half bitter, half resigned, while the flamenco voices of Niño de Elche and La Húngara answer him.

The music is rumba flamenca with guitars and hand claps, and the video — a lively, crowded gathering — became one of the most-watched Spanish videos of its year.

It's great for Spain Spanish: the “vosotros” form, the Madrid and Andalusian accents, and expressions you'll hear in any Spanish bar. “Dejar de + infinitive” (to stop doing something) is the grammar gem in the title.
