What the song is about

“Tout oublier” (forget everything) is a 2018 duet by Angèle and her older brother, the rapper Roméo Elvis, from Brussels. The tune is light and bright, but the words are about wanting to switch off: the worries, the bad news, the pressure to look happy online — and the irony that forgetting everything isn't really an answer.

It was one of the songs that launched Angèle, and it's built on a contrast she loves: cheerful pop with a sharp message.

Angèle sings clearly and Roméo raps in a relaxed flow, so you get two styles of Belgian French. The vocabulary of moods and worries — oublier, la tête, les problèmes — is useful every day.
