What the song is about

“Envolver” (to wrap up, to draw someone in) is Anitta's 2021 song — sung in Spanish, not Portuguese — about a night with someone she's not going to fall for. She's in control: it's attraction, not love, and she says so.

In 2022 it made Anitta the first Brazilian artist to reach number one on Spotify's global chart, helped by a viral dance from the video. It confirmed her as Brazil's biggest pop star abroad.

Note for learners: the lyrics are Spanish, with a light Brazilian accent — a good bridge if you're learning both languages. Its words of attraction and control (to wrap, to fall in love, tonight) are slow and clear over a dembow beat.
